What are some things you shouldn't include in your public online profile? Why not?
I think you shouldn't give out any personal information, I've heard that people can steal your identity. And don't ever post on Facebook that you're going on vacation, it lets thieves know when you're gone.
Oops! I just posted that my parents were going to be out of town all week. Maybe I should take that down. I probably wouldn't put my phone number up. I don't have many minutes and don't want strangers crank calling me. You probably wouldn't want to post credit card information. People could steal your identity that way too. How am I going to give out the address for the party if I can't post it online? Thoughts anyone?
What are acceptable things to post online? Why?
I like to post song lyrics. Song that I like and songs that I'm writing. I think it's alright to post what kind of music you listen to, what you like and what you don't like.
Yea, but remember that Napster guy? Didn't he get in trouble for playing free songs? I posted a picture from someone's site and they sent me a letter to take it down...something about right copy??. It was online so it should be free, right? They probably have nothing better to do then to send letters about their pictures.
Yah, but it's OK to post links to YouTube I think. I mean the artists I link to all have their so I think they like to have you link to them. I also think it's alright to list artists, or movies, or TV shows, ya know just kind of I like so and so.
